Norm VanOverbeke

Norm has a strong background in the building construction profession. Before joining DSI in 1988 he served a Manager for Great Plains Supply Company in Ivanhoe and is experienced in analyzing building conditions and preparing cost estimates.

Norm has served the cities of Balaton, Boyd, Florence, Ivanhoe, Lynd, Madison, Morris, Russell, Ruthton, Pipestone, and Lincoln County with building inspection, apartment construction management, and grant administration services.

He has conducted more than 800 housing and nearly 300 commercial building inspections, identifying structural conditions and developing specifications for necessary repairs.

Norm is fully accredited by the State of Minnesota as a “Certified Building Official” and is an active member of the S.W. Minnesota Chapter of the International Conference of Building Officials.He has completed many hours of continuing education in the field.

Norm is also completing training as an MPCA 7080 “Designer 1” for individual spetic system design and certification, and is a Certified Lead Assessor.

Norm and his family live in Ivanhoe.
