Like many communities, Ivanhoe faced a housing gap.

There were low-income rental units in town and standard single-family houses, but nothing at all for rental housing aimed at higher-income clients.

The Ivanhoe Economic Development Authority took up the challenge and _____ units of market-rate rental housing were created in Ivanhoe with planning and project management assistance from DSI. Now, ______ 4-plexes and one six-plex provide one and two bedroom apartments to meet the needs of families and retirees.

Working with the Ivanhoe EDA, DSI organized the financing package for the projects, gather input on design from prospective renters, handle the bidding, supervise contractors, conduct regular inspections as the work moved forward, and provide marketing assistance.
