The elderly widow who lives in this house saw her home undergo major improvements that enhanced her quality of life. With the assistance of Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) funds secured and administered by DSI, the house also became an attractive asset to the community. Total funds invested in the house were $24,435, including $2,443 coming from the owner.

Housing Rehab in Porter
This house was in need of major repairs, but the family of six needed a helping hand in order to get the job done. An SCDP grant written and administered by DSI enbled the necessary improvements to be made. As a result, the house will be preserved for another generation of use. A total of $12,248 was applied to the improvements, which included $2,449 from the owner.
 

Housing Rehab in Porter
A young couple in their twenties was just starting out in this house. But significant structural problems confronted them. Without rehabilitation, the house was heading downhill. With SCDP funding obtained and administered by DSI as the financial incentive, the house was preserved for the future and the owners were able to leverage $8,892 of their own funds for the repair project. The total cost of improvements was $30,892.
