"The Slope" in Ivanhoe was in serious need of repair. The building was no longer meeting the needs of the owners, who operate a landscaping, floral, and plant business. With the assistance of Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) funds secured and administered for Ivanhoe by DSI, the building underwent a major transformation. Total funds invested in the building were $15,552, including $3,110 coming from the owners.

"Future Financial" in Hendricks was looking to renovate an old building on main street that had been unused for several years. In order for this to happen, the structure needed a facelift and several other repairs. An SCDP grant written and administered by DSI helped bring this building back into productive use for the community. A total of $31,134 was applied to the improvements, which included $6,227 from the owner.

The old bowling alley in Sherburn had been closed for several years and had seen its better days. New owners wanted to breathe some life into the building. With assistance from an SCDP grant administered by DSI, the "Old Alley Quilt Shop" became a brand new business in the building. Structural repairs, exterior appearance, and a new roof made this possible. $27,978 was invested in the building, including $7,197 that was the owner's share.
